History of American Involvement with the Phillippines

In the High School History class, we learned about the Phillipines and the history and independence of the Phillippines. We learned about the war and what Philippines did to gain their independence. One important general, by the name of Douglas MacArthur, was an American  and field marshal of the Philippine Army. We also saw how the Arnis fighting was formed and what Arnis fighting was.

Arnis Weapons

The highschoolers got to know how to use the Filipino Arnis fighting method with Mr. Smith. I thought it was very interesting to see how Mr. Smith taught the students in the class. It was a fun and interactive class, and I think that if i was in that class, I would learn a lot from it. Another thing that I thought was interesting was, was the history room itself. It was very colorful and the walls were covered with different flags from different countries. The walls were also covered with many interesting and colorful paintings from different countries too. Mr. Smith also had a large collection of different kinds of weapons and objects to show us.
